Introduction to MARS

Introduction to MARS

This guide provides an initial introduction to MARS. It outlines what MARS does to help organisations meet the needs of Consumer Duty and provide fair outcomes for vulnerable consumers. It covers how MARS works, how it uses the MARS Resilience Rating, and how to get started using MARS for the first time. It also covers the principles which underpin MARS, including understanding severity and circumstances, delivering consistent assessments, how MARS can be configured for each business and the requirements of GDPR.

The MARS Resilience Rating

The MARS Resilience Rating

This guide explains in depth how the MARS Resilience Rating works. The MARS Resilience Rating is a powerful method of more objectively defining how vulnerable or resilient a consumer is. This helps firms to evidence how they meet the FCA’s Consumer Duty regulations. The Resilience Rating assesses consumers holistically, on primary and secondary characteristics – including health, wealth, life events, financial capability, engagement capability, support network and the permanency of their vulnerability status.

Adding new customers

Adding new customers

This guide walks you through the process of adding new consumers to MARS. It leads you through creating a new case, detailing the information required and how to add this to MARS. It also explains how, once the case is added, data (via a questionnaire) can be completed by the consumer, by the user, or by a MorganAsh nurse.

Managing and monitoring vulnerability

Managing and monitoring vulnerability

This guide explains how to use MARS to manage and monitor consumer vulnerability. It explains how the MARS Resilience Rating works and how to use MARS on a day-to-day basis. It shows how cases are accessed, added and amended via the home screen. It runs through viewing and editing a case, understanding primary and secondary characteristics, the MARS Resilience Rating and certificate and how all details of the case can be edited and updated.

Creating and amending treatments

Creating and amending treatments

This guide explains ‘treatments’ in MARS: these are important ‘next steps’ to take when a condition (or group of conditions) is met. Treatments are a powerful and important part of MARS. This guide explains what treatments are, how they work, how to create and amend them and how they are invoked.

MARS configuration

MARS configuration

A powerful aspect of MARS is how it can be configured to best suit each organisation’s needs. This guide explains how you or your organisation can configure users, products, treatments and the settings which are used by default when new cases are created. It also outlines configuration changes which can be made by MorganAsh to better align MARS to your needs.
