This webinar explores the intersection of Consumer Duty and GDPR, focusing on the data storage and privacy issues businesses must navigate to be compliant. We will explore the key challenges firms face in managing vulnerable customer data, discussing the types of data that need to be stored, and the permissions required.
We look at ‘explicit consent’ – what it means, how it works, and the situations where you don’t need explicit consent to process vulnerable customer data. We will also cover the question of how long data should be retained, looking at best practices surrounding data retention timelines.
We’re joined by an expert guest, Robert Bell of RB Compliance Consultancy. Robert will help us to explore how GDPR impacts the storage of information about vulnerable customers, including the provisions within GDPR allow for such storage and which aspects may limit it. We will also explore internal and external data sharing, including why, when and how data can be shared both within and between organisations. Special category data and its implications for GDPR compliance will also be covered.
Finally, we will discuss the use of third-party data, such as open banking, and whether this can serve as an alternative to direct data collection. This session will help you to navigate the complexities of data storage and privacy regulations while maintaining full compliance with both Consumer Duty and UK GDPR.
This webinar is in the planning stage, booking details will be available soon.
